Feature Request

Postby Carsten » Tue Jan 09, 2018 6:49 pm

Hi!

I`m from Germany and yousing your R26 Doorsystem.

I just thought i share some feature ideas for this system:

Single Picture "Stream"
Would be great to grab a "single" picture directly through an URL from the system. In Germany are some DECT phones available which can poll such a picture when a specific number (from the doorbell) is calling

Fileoptions with FTP (and other) Actions
Actually the system uploads a single picture with name as some syntax like "date-time...." Would be great to configure this as a fixed mode (evertime overwriting existing file, would also be workarround for the first idea) or which syntax should be used.

HTTP-Action to open the door
Since the wired solution via the relays makes it necessary to lead the wires outdoors, which is a potential security gap, a function would be a great way to trigger an HTTP action via DTMF instead of the relay.

If you are interested i try somehting more around and bring some life and ideas to this forum? :-)

Best regards from Germany,
Carsten

Hi Carsten,
Welcome to Akuvox forum, nice to have you here.
--Single Picture "Stream"
you can use http://IP address:8080/picture.jpg for it.
--Fileoptions with FTP(and other) actions.
Its a good idea, we will take it into consideration
--HTTP-Action to open the door
If you are talking about open relay via http command, its already on R26. You can find the setting on R26 web interface

It's great that you are sharing us with your ideas, looking forward to hear more from you.

Thanks&BR,
Luke,

Great that works! Thanks!
Think it would be worth to take it into the documentation.

Hmm i`m not shure if we understand each other right.
I don`t want to open the relay by http command. Let me take a scenario:

Someone is calling from the door. I take the call and want to open him the door.
Therefore i van send DTMF to open the relay. What i`m looking for: Send a HTTP Request from the R26P to another system which is opening the door.
This HTTP Request should therefore also triggered by DTMF.

Thank you, Terry! :)

I have just another idea:

Time settings manually
In the Settings area "Phone -> Time/Lang" i canjust configure a NTP Server. If i run the system completely local and don't have an own NTP Service running it could help if i could switch the mode to manual and configure my time/date by hand.

Hi Carsten,
Now I got what you meant. Currently R26 can only send http to other device when dialing. With http triggered by DTMF R26could work with more scenario.

--Time settings manually
Yes you are correct, R26 can only obtain time from NTP server. Its designed this way since R26 does not have internal battery to keep system time running while power off, so NTP is always needed otherwise user will have to adjust the time everytime after device power off.
If you are running the system conpletely local, you can always setup a local ntp server XD.
